Monday, March 5th WWI Textbook Reading Students will kickoff the WWI unit by reading about it in the textbook. They will take notes on the material using a guided notes sheet. Tuesday, March 6th The Outbreak of WWI We will go over the first lesson of the WWI unit. Students will explore the causes of WWI HW: M.A.I.N Causes of WWI We will start this assignment in class. What students do not finish will be homework. Due tomorrow Wednesday, March 7th The Great War Part 1 We will look at the early fighting during WWI. HW: Trench Warfare Reading We will start this assignment in class. What students do not finish will be homework. Due tomorrow Thursday, March 8th Life in the Trenches We will learn more about life and fighting in the trenches. Friday, March 9th WWI Poems Activity Students will study WWI poetry. They will read and listen to a number of WWI poems with the intent of identifying the poems’ themes and messages. Ultimately, students will work toward composing WWI Blackout poems of their own.
